I spoke about this in my previous post, the answer isn’t and shouldn’t be simply “it’s better for the environment.”

The truth is we don’t have the supply chain or infrastructure to switch from plastic to paper or vice versa!

Paper production uses more energy to produce and one would need more paper to package the same product.

And while paper looks eco-friendly it FAILS at the fundamental job of packaging – protecting the product.

> Lower barrier = lower shelf life
> Weather changes spoil the product
> Transport damages are higher
> Packaging weight is higher

Using paper for post current plastic packaging is like using a paper umbrella in the rain—good intentions, but not practical for most products.

HOWEVER, paper is recycled more than plastic!

So the real question should be: “Why isn’t plastic recycled as much?”

Instead of abandoning plastic, let’s focus on smart applications and building infrastructure to recycle it mechanically or chemically.

The future isn’t about eliminating plastic—it’s about innovating sustainable packaging with it!

Agreed?
